The Barcelona-born rider heads into the penultimate round of the Trial2 World Championship just five points behind the leader.
The Trial2 World Championship enters its decisive phase this weekend, with the penultimate round of the calendar. Miquel Gelabert, riding the RTL Electric for the Japanese team, heads to Rhode Island in second place with just two rounds remaining.
Gelabert is in great form after a strong performance in San Marino, where he had a spectacular first day with a double victory. Despite a mechanical problem on the second day, he managed to minimise the damage and hold firm in the standings. He is currently second, just five points behind leader Harry Hemingway, and knows that Rhode Island offers no margin for error if he wants to keep his hopes of winning the championship alive at the final round in the United Kingdom.
The rider and his team have worked on his fitness to be at his best for the final two rounds. Since their difficult start to the season, progress has been notable, and the goal is now to score as many points as possible.
Rhode Island is presented as an important but also demanding event. The equality in the category is huge and any small mistake can be expensive. Gelabert faces the challenge with his mind set on scoring as many points as possible, maintaining his concentration and staying in the fight for the championship.

“These weeks off from racing have been positive, because we've had some very intense days of training and preparing the bike for the United States. We're going to try to continue with the approach we've taken in the last few races, with a focus on enjoying ourselves. The goal is to finish first in the United States, since the next round is the last one and on top of that, it's Harry's home round. This will be an important weekend for us. I'm very motivated and will keep pushing to do a good job.”

“This break has been positive for fine-tuning some details, and we're arriving in the United States very motivated. We're very close to the leader, but that doesn't change our working dynamic: we continue with the focus of going zone by zone and race by race. The important thing now is to maintain the form we've been in and avoid mistakes. It's the penultimate round of the season, and nothing is decided yet. There are still a lot of points at stake, so we'll have to be very focused and give our all until the end.”
