The Barcelona-born rider is second in the Trial2 World Championship standings after his brilliant performance in Calvi.
The Honda Montesa team travel to San Marino this weekend to compete in the fifth round of the Trial2 World Championship. The event takes place just after the 2025 season passes its halfway point, and will be the second time the outdoor championship has come to the small European country, following its debut in 2023.
RTL Electric rider Miquel Gelabert is in excellent form. In the previous round, held on the French island of Corsica, the Barcelona-born rider secured a third place on Saturday and a victory on Sunday, earning the maximum 40 points. Thanks to that performance, he has climbed to second place in the Trial2 standings with 233 points, just 20 points behind leader Harry Hemingway.
Honda Montesa’s goal this weekend in San Marino is to continue closing the gap in the standings, in a class where any mistake can ruin the chances of fighting for victory. Gelabert’s progress in recent races on the electric bike has been very positive, and the team will look to continue working in the same way.
The weekend’s activities will begin on Friday with technical and administrative checks, area reconnaissance, and the official practice session. The action will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with the two events.

"I'm coming to San Marino with a lot of enthusiasm after a good weekend in Calvi; especially on the Sunday, where I felt very comfortable. We're in good shape, second overall, and every point counts. The goal is to continue like this and make up as much ground as possible, although we know that in Trial2 everything is very close and there's no room for error. I'm confident about the work we're doing with the team and the performance of the RTL Electric. Now it's time to stay focused and fight to be at the top again."
Carles Barneda
"We hope to continue on the same track as last Sunday in France, and be back on the top step of the podium. Right now we're second overall, and the goal is to make up points race by race, but in this class everything is extremely tight, and any mistake can be very costly. Therefore, we'll have to be very attentive and stay calm throughout the weekend so we don't miss a single detail."
